Technology has developed in unimaginable ways over recent years, providing different industries with a whole host of opportunities to develop the work that they do. One industry that has and continues to benefit from the advancements in technology is the property industry, which provides opportunities in various aspects of the sector. Property related businesses are continuously looking for new ways that they can incorporate new technology into their work, with an aim to improve everything that they do.

Floor Plans

A floor plan is an essential part of a property, especially when somebody is looking to buy. However, technology has also had a big impact on floor plans, with CAD software creating more comprehensive and concise floor plans for people to look at. A good floor plan is a great way to appeal to property buyers, and so the technology is very much welcomed with open arms.

Property Imagery and Virtual Property Viewings

One of the biggest changes to the market, following advancements to technology, is the way that properties are displayed online and viewed by potential buyers. Firstly, the equipment used for the photography of properties has improved and continues to develop, with the introduction of remote controlled drones taking over. Drones are used to fly over and above properties, capturing images of properties that were once never available, creating fantastic views of the property from all angles.

Virtual property viewings are something else that has taken the market by storm, allowing potential buyers to have a viewing of the property, without having to go to the property itself. With advancements to virtual reality over recent years, the property market has taken advantage and has created an additional, innovative way for a property to be viewed. Many people simply don’t have time to go to a property viewing, with work and children taking up most of their time, so this is a great alternative for them.

Estate Agent Window Property Listings

Everybody at some point in their life has stood in front of an estate agents shop window, looking at different properties within their area. However, this very traditional way of viewing properties has had somewhat of a shakeup recently, with technology changing the way that a shop window is formatted. A big feature of estate agent shop windows is now the interactive, digital screens that are used to display various aspects to a property listing. Not only are images and features of the property shown, but virtual tours, statistics and other very impressive elements of a property are also displayed.

One of the biggest reasons for this is that customers are no longer satisfied with what they are receiving from estate agents, leading to a loss of confidence in the work that they are doing. As a result, estate agents are looking to provide a more comprehensive service to customers, adding substance to the work that they do and aiming to improve the confidence of the general public. It also allows the estate agents to tap into a growing market of first-time buyers; particularly as they are likely to be a younger demographic that is more tech-savvy.
